Doctoral Researcher – Global synthesis of insect associations on non-native plants
At a time when biological invasions are intensifying under climate change, the integration of synthesis research with Artificial Intelligence is not just useful – it is necessary. By integrating global insect–plant interactions, we reveal invasion drivers, predict biodiversity outcomes, and inform conservation strategies for resilient ecosystems.

Specialization

Plant–insect interactions, community ecology, biological invasions, ecological synthesis using Artificial Intelligence.

Educational & Professional Background

Education

  • Master’s in Zoology, Banaras Hindu University, 2019
  • Master’s in Biodiversity and Conservation, Queen Mary University of London, 2024

Professional Experience

  • 2020 – 2022. Junior research fellow, National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bengaluru, India
  • 2019 – 2023. Research affiliate, Eco-tourism Park Butterfly Garden, Kolkata, India
  • 2016 – 2017. Project intern, Presidency University, Kolkata

At Forest Risk Research Centre

As a member of the Forest Invasion Synthesis Centre, Prague (FISC), he focuses on the global synthesis of insect associations on non-native plants. He’s developing AI techniques to compile a database of herbivorous insects associated with non-native plants, and analyse this database to identify drivers of native and non-native insect richness on non-native plants in different world regions.

Beyond Science

When I am not working, I love going on trips to explore different cities around Europe and doing street and nature photography. In my free time, I love cooking different dishes and reading books.
